Razer and Fossil have just announced a new collaboration that will see the two companies release a new line of gaming smartwatches. The watches are called the Razer Blade and the Fossil Q Venture. The Razer Blade is a sleek, lightweight device that is designed to be as comfortable as possible to wear. It features an OLED display with a resolution of 1440p, which is higher than most other gaming smartwatches on the market. The Blade also has an Intel Core i5 processor and 8GB of RAM, which is plenty enough for most gamers. The Fossil Q Venture is much more affordable than the Razer Blade, but it does not have any of the features that make the Blade so great. It has a plastic body and an LCD display with a resolution of 480p. However, it does have some great features that make it worth considering for gamers who want something more comfortable to wear. For example, it has an IP68 rating meaning that it can be submerged in water up to 50 feet deep for up to an hour without losing data or power. Additionally, it has a built-in speaker and microphone that allow you to talk into your phone while you play games.

Razer and Fossil decided to make this watch a limited edition model and it choose the most gamer-centric number in 1,337 (it mean leet in leetspeak). This watch could definitely end up being a sought-after collectible when it launches on January 10, 2022, for $329.

“We are always on the lookout for opportunities to compliment gamers’ lifestyles and to bring them products that not only look good but bring value to their lives as well. This is why we kept the gamers’ well-being at the heart of the Razer X Fossil Gen 6. Leveraging Fossil’s innovative technology and Razer’s iconic design aesthetic, this smartwatch will be the perfect accessory to keep you ahead of the game,” said Addie Tan, Associate Director, Business Development at Razer.

As far as the watch itself, it’s a modified version of the Fossil Gen 6 smartwatch. It comes with three unique Razer watch faces, four customizable Razer Chroma RGB effects, and two watch straps that are designed to give it the gaming look and feel. The rest appears to be exactly the same as a regular Fossil Gen 6.

The Fossil Gen 6 is a solid watch outside of the Razer stuff. It comes with a 1.28” touchscreen digital display, a Snapdragon Wear 4100+ processor, support for Wear OS 3 when it drops later in 2022, and all kinds of sensors including an Accelerometer, Gyroscope, Compass, and Altimeter.
