Apple is teaming up with Legendary Entertainment and Warner Bros. Television to produce a new show based on the Godzilla franchise. The show will be available on Apple TV+, which is a new streaming service from Apple that offers a variety of channels, including those for movies and television shows. The show will be set in the year 2045, and it will follow the characters from the Godzilla movies as they try to prevent an alien threat from destroying Los Angeles. The show will also feature new characters created for the series, and it is expected to be released in late 2020 or early 2021. This is great news for fans of the Godzilla franchise, as it means that we can expect another movie based on the series soon. Apple TV+ is a great way to watch shows online, as it offers a lot of different channels that you can access without having to pay extra for them. ..

In a press release, Apple talked about some of the big names creating the new untitled Godzilla show. “The untitled Monsterverse series will be produced by Legendary Television and executive produced by co-creators Chris Black (Star Trek: Enterprise, Outcast), who will also serve as showrunner, and Matt Fraction (Hawkeye), alongside Safehouse Pictures’ Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell, and Toho Co., Ltd. Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita will executive produce for Toho,” said Apple.

Apple continued, “Legendary’s Monsterverse is an expansive story universe of multi-layered experiences centering around humanity’s battle to survive in a world that is under siege by a catastrophic new reality—the monsters of our myths and legends are real.”

The show will pick up the story where Kong: Skull Island and Godzilla left off, so if you haven’t had a chance to check out those films, you might want to give them a watch before you watch the new show.

Outside of Godzilla, the show will feature other members of the MonsterVerse, also known as the Titans, though Apple didn’t specify which others would appear. We’d hope to see names like King Kong, Mothra, Rodan, Scylla, and Mechagodzilla, but we’ll have to wait and see which awesome monsters they choose to feature.

Unfortunately, Apple didn’t announce when the show would begin production or when we can expect to see it hit the company’s streaming service.
