Amazon is looking to buy Minecraft for two-thirds of a Roomba. The online retailer has been in talks with Mojang, the creator of Minecraft, about purchasing the game for $2 billion. If the deal goes through, it would make Amazon the second largest owner of Minecraft after Microsoft. Minecraft is a sandbox video game that allows players to build things and explore randomly generated worlds. It has sold over 150 million copies across all platforms and has been credited with helping to revive the popularity of video games among children and adults. The purchase by Amazon would give it access to Mojang’s team of developers and allow it to continue developing Minecraft into new platforms, such as virtual reality. It would also give Amazon a foothold in the gaming market, which is estimated to be worth $100 billion by 2020. ..
